It’s a thrilling experience of TALKING and THINKING and HIGH FIVING that anyone can play—but it also has some of that deep word game sorcery, like Codenames, where your decisions feel tense, strategic, and meaningful.

What do you mean by “convey a single thought?” when giving a clue?

It’s kind of a subtle distinction, but in practice you’ll know it when you see it. Basically, this rule means that you can’t give multiple contexts wrapped in a single clue. So “texting while driving” is a clue that might technically be “two things," linguistically, but in practice, it conveys a single idea on something like the “Dangerous - Safe” spectrum. But if you gave the clue “texting while driving a Honda Accord,” all of a sudden you would need to debate the safety of BOTH texting while driving AND a Honda Accord.

This almost always just makes the game less fun and too easy, since this leads to players weighing the merits of two unrelated things against each other, then splitting the difference, rather than reaching a definite conclusion.

How can I prevent players from accidentally nudging the wheel out of position when they're opening the screen?

The easiest way to open the screen is by *tapping* the handle with the side of your finger, like in this gif. This is also our recommended way to make the reveal more dramatic in general!

Can I make the screen less hard to open?

Some of the devices have a harder locking “bump” than others. So if you’re having trouble opening the screen, just hold the handle and open/close the screen rapidly for 30-60 seconds, like below.

That will wear down the bump a tiny bit and it should work perfectly after that!

How do I keep the device securely in the tray?

1. Insert the device FIRMLY into the slot in the tray at a middle angle (not leaning all the way back).

2. Use the tap method above to open the screen.

3. Make the lock less tight, as shown above.

4. If you’re still having trouble, it could be dust on the device. Try rubbing your finger against the sides (and also the sides of the tray slot)
