Rollerblade RB 80 is a hard boot urban and fitness skate for beginners and improving skaters: the simple, supportive way into inline skating.
RB 80 or Lightning 80? Both roll on 80mm wheels and suit learners. The RB 80 keeps it simple with standard buckles; the Lightning 80 adds memory buckles that remember their setting and its own Lightning liner. Choose the RB 80 if you want a dependable first skate at a lower price.
Roomier fit. A wider toe box and footbed suit broader feet — no pinching on long sessions.
Getting the size right. Measure your foot from heel to longest toe and choose the size whose range includes it in the size finder. A hard boot should feel snug at first, with your toes just touching the front when you stand straight.
Frame by size: EU 36.5-46 come with a 243mm frame; EU 47-48 with a 261mm frame.
A heel brake comes pre-installed for safe stopping — easy to remove as your skills grow.

How to measure: Stand on a hard floor with your heels against a wall and trace or measure both feet heel-to-toe in centimetres. Use the longer measurement to read the chart.

Two ways to size
The simple method (your normal shoe size) works for most people; the detailed method (measuring in cm) gives a more accurate fit.
Skate prep
Remove all paper and plastic from the toe box before putting the skates on, then fasten the closure securely to lock the heel and ankle in place.
✓ How it should feel
Toes reach the end and can lightly brush the front without cramping. Once the closures are fastened the heel sits back with little to no lift.
✗ How it should NOT feel
Toes jammed hard against the front with no room (size up), or a heel that lifts and slides around inside the boot (size down).

Measure both feet and choose by the larger one; the heel settles back in the skating position to make room for the toes. Tried to find a physical outlet besides Decathlon to find a pair of skates that can fit my wide feet - much harder these days than when I bought my last pair about 4/5 years ago! I believe it's less than a handful of such shops around now, which is a real pity.
In any case, Guan (I believe it was him! Apologies if I got the name wrong) was really attentive to my needs, my skating preferences and my budget. He then ably directed me to this pair of skates which had not been on my viewing list but after trying it on for fit (note: you can't actually skate at the venue), and knowing the pros and cons between buying a hard shell boot vs a soft one, I went along with Guan's recommendation (never hard sell, which I totally appreciate) and have been very happy with the pair.
