💬Description
💬Description
The SL J by FR SKATES is a high-performance, adjustable junior freestyle slalom skate designed to combine innovation, scalability, and precision. It introduces a unique 3-in-1 insole system allowing a +2-size adjustment regardless of the base size, making it one of the most versatile junior skates on the market. The skate features a 150mm mounting system compatible with most standard 165mm frames while lowering the center of gravity for enhanced balance and control. Its adaptive wheel setup evolves with foot size to match the skater s morphology, while the hybrid wheel composition (single density center / dual density extremities) optimizes roll, grip, and stability for advanced slalom techniques such as wheeling.
The SL J represents a major step forward in junior freestyle slalom skating. Designed as a true high-end performance skate, it integrates multiple innovations to support both progression and technical mastery.

📏FR SLJ Size Chart
At its core, the FR SL J stands out with its 3-in-1 insole system, enabling each skate to expand by +2 sizes regardless of the starting size — going beyond traditional adjustable skates for unmatched longevity and precise fit tuning over time. Measure your child’s foot length in cm and match it to the adjustable EU range below; the MP (Mondopoint) column is the most precise, and the EU range matches the variant to buy.
How to measure: Place your child’s foot flat against a wall on a sheet of A4 paper. Draw a line at the tip of the longest toe and measure the distance from the line to the edge of the paper — that cm value is the size to match.
| Foot (cm) | EU | US | UK | MP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 21 – 22 | 33 – 35 | 2 – 4 | 1 – 3 | 21.5 – 22.5 |
| 22 – 23 | 34 – 36 | 3 – 4.5 | 2 – 3.5 | 22 – 23 |
| 22 – 23.5 | 35 – 37 | 4 – 5 | 3 – 4 | 22.5 – 23.5 |
| 22.5 – 24 | 36 – 38 | 4.5 – 6 | 3.5 – 5 | 23 – 24.5 |
| 23.5 – 25 | 37 – 39 | 5 – 7 | 4 – 6 | 23.5 – 25.5 |
| 24.5 – 25.5 | 38 – 40 | 6 – 7.5 | 5 – 6.5 | 24.5 – 26 |
Adjustable Sizing
Each size adjusts across a 3-size EU range via the 3-in-1 insole system (+2 sizes from the base). Match your child’s foot length in cm to the range above and buy that EU-range variant.
Fitting for COMFORT
Start at the smaller end with all insole layers in, then peel a layer as the foot grows.
Fitting for PERFORMANCE
Set the insole layers so the boot fits your child’s exact measured size for a snug, responsive slalom fit.
3-in-1 Insole System
Three stackable insole layers give a +2-size adjustment from the base size, regardless of the starting size — peel a layer as the foot grows. The shell itself is fixed.
Frame & Mount
150 mm mounting system (compatible with most 165 mm frames) lowers the centre of gravity; the wheel setup evolves with foot size.
Liner
FR junior liner breaks in and moulds to the foot.
✓ How it should feel
A snug fit with toes just touching or reaching the front. Add insole layers if there is extra room, and peel a layer as the foot grows.
✗ How it should NOT feel
Toes curling up, the heel lifting once buckled, or the foot sliding around even with all insole layers in — size up a range.
Size Chart Disclaimer. This chart reflects measurements supplied by FR. The SL J is an adjustable junior skate (3-in-1 insole, +2 sizes), supplied in EU ranges 33–40. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect size purchases — when in doubt, message us before ordering.
