Unleash Your Inner Aggressive Skater (Without Destroying Your Frames)
You love your Endless UFS frames. We get it. The smooth roll, the incredible maneuverability, the way they transform your skating experience – it’s pure magic. But let’s be honest, sometimes you see a rail, a curb, or a ledge, and a little voice in your head whispers, “Grind it!” Then reality sets in: the thought of gouging your beautiful, precision-engineered frames is enough to make you cringe.
What if you didn't have to choose between the sublime ride of your Endless frames and the thrill of aggressive tricks? What if you could have the best of both worlds?
Enter the Endless UFS Slider Set. This isn't just another accessory; it's a game-changer for anyone looking to push the boundaries of their Endless UFS setup. Priced at SGD $63.70, these sliders are designed to protect your frames while empowering you to explore a whole new dimension of aggressive big wheel skating.
What Exactly Is the Endless UFS Slider Set?
At its core, the Endless UFS Slider Set is an ingenious add-on designed specifically for your Endless 80 UFS and Endless 90 UFS frames. Forget swapping out entire frames just to dabble in grinds. These low-friction engineering plastic sliders bolt directly onto the side of your existing frames, acting as a sacrificial layer between your precious metal and unforgiving obstacles.
But it's not just about protection. These sliders are engineered for performance. They feature a "lock enhancing geometry" – a fancy term for a design that helps you lock into grinds more securely and minimize those frustrating hang-ups that can abruptly end your trick. Think smoother, faster slides and more confident grinds.
Beyond the Specs: The Hybrid Skater's Secret Weapon
The real beauty of the Endless UFS Slider Set lies in the versatility it unlocks. Skaters often find themselves torn between the agility and speed of larger wheels for urban cruising and the robust, grind-ready nature of aggressive setups. With these sliders, you no longer have to compromise.
Many skaters who’ve embraced these sliders rave about how they can now seamlessly transition from a leisurely cruise to hitting a ledge in the skate park. It’s been called a "huge game changer" for those who enjoy a variety of skating styles, effectively merging the worlds of freestyle and aggressive. You can maintain the sleek aesthetic and exceptional ride quality of your Endless frames, knowing that the sliders are taking the brunt of the wear and tear.
Real Talk: What Skaters Are Saying
We’ve scoured the community to bring you honest insights into what real users think about the Endless UFS Slider Set. Here’s a breakdown of the common praises and a tiny bit of practical advice:
The Praises: Why Skaters Love Them
- Unbeatable Frame Protection: This is the number one reason. Skaters absolutely love that they can finally attempt soul grinds and other aggressive tricks without the constant fear of "destroying" their expensive Endless frames. The sliders are easily replaceable, making them the ideal sacrificial part.
- Enhanced Sliding Performance: The low-friction plastic and "lock enhancing geometry" aren’t just marketing speak. Users genuinely report a "fast and smooth sliding surface" that helps them stick grinds and slide with confidence, reducing those annoying catches and stalls.
- True Hybrid Versatility: For the skater who wants it all – urban exploration, quick commutes, and skate park sessions – these sliders are a revelation. They truly unlock "big wheel sole tricks" without requiring a complete setup overhaul.
- Maintained Aesthetics: Nobody wants their frames looking beat up. By absorbing the impact and abrasion, the sliders help keep your Endless frames looking fresh and pristine for longer.
A Little Tip (Not a Complaint!):
- While specific complaints about the sliders are rare, one smart user tip that surfaces is to use a touch of Loctite on the screws when installing the sliders. This is a common practice with skate hardware to prevent screws from loosening over time due to vibrations and impacts. It’s not a flaw in the product, just a pro-tip for solid installation!
Endless Sliders vs. The Alternatives: Why Choose This Add-on?
You might be thinking, "Aren't there other UFS frames for big wheels that can grind?" And you'd be right! Brands like Ground Control and Kizer offer UFS frames, some designed for larger wheels, and their aggressive frames often feature built-in grind areas or accept H-blocks. So, what makes the Endless UFS Slider Set stand out?
The key differentiator is that the Endless Slider Set is an *add-on* designed specifically for your *existing* Endless 80 UFS or 90 UFS frames. This is crucial for a few reasons:
- Retain Your Endless Ride: If you love the unique rockered feel, responsiveness, and carving ability of your Endless frames, you don't have to sacrifice that by switching to a dedicated aggressive frame. The sliders bolt on, preserving the core characteristics of your beloved Endless setup.
- Cost-Effective Versatility: Instead of buying a completely separate aggressive frame setup (which can be a significant investment), the sliders offer a more affordable way to add grind capability to your current big wheel frames.
- Targeted Protection: While some big wheel frames might have minor grind areas, the Endless sliders are specifically engineered as a sacrificial, low-friction surface for serious grinding, offering superior protection and slide performance compared to just grinding on the frame itself.
So, while a Kizer Element 90s frame might offer big wheels and some grind capability, it’s a different frame entirely. The Endless Slider Set lets you maintain the "Endless magic" for cruising and carving, while adding robust grind protection when you need it.
Who Should Grab the Endless UFS Slider Set?
- The Endless UFS Owner Curious About Grinding: If you have Endless 80 UFS or 90 UFS frames and have always wanted to try grinding, this is your ticket without risking your main frames.
- The Hybrid Skater: You love cruising the city but also want to session the skate park or hit street ledges. These sliders allow you to do both with one setup.
- The Frame Protector: You've invested in quality Endless frames and want to keep them looking pristine while still pushing your limits.
Who Might Skip It?
- Dedicated Aggressive Skaters: If your primary focus is aggressive skating and you already have a dedicated aggressive setup with grind frames and small wheels, these sliders might not be necessary for your specific needs.
- Pure Urban/Freestyle Skaters: If you have absolutely no interest in grinding or sliding on obstacles, then the sliders won't add value to your skating style.
- Skaters Without Endless UFS Frames: This might seem obvious, but these sliders are specifically designed for Endless 80 UFS and 90 UFS frames. They won't fit other frame brands or even other Endless frame models.
Installation & Sizing Tips
The Endless UFS Slider Set is available in two sizes: one for the Endless 80 UFS frame and one for the Endless 90 UFS frame. Make sure you select the correct size to match your existing frames.
Installation is straightforward: the sliders bolt onto the side of your frames. As mentioned earlier, a tiny drop of blue Loctite (or similar threadlocker) on the screw threads can be a smart move to ensure they stay secure through all your aggressive sessions.
Ready to Grind with Confidence?
The Endless UFS Slider Set is more than just an accessory; it's an invitation to expand your skating horizons. It’s about giving you the freedom to explore aggressive tricks without compromise, all while protecting the frames you already love. Stop dreaming about those grinds and start doing them!
